Day 1 - Arrival in Dibrugarh

Arrive in Dibrugarh around noon. Light meal and tour of a local tea garden, then transfer to Brahmaputra Pearl private houseboat, on the shore of the Brahmaputra River, to settle into rooms. Enjoy an early evening Bihu cultural dance performance and a sunset dinner cruise on the Brahmaputra River.

Day 2 - Sivsagar

Early morning visit to a weaving center in Dibrugarh. Set off for Sivsagar, the capital of the Ahom Kingdom, enjoying river dolphin and other wildlife sighting along the way. Meals will be enjoyed on the houseboat and on river islands along the way to Sivsagar.

Day 3 - Pohu Garh, Talatal Ghar, Rang Ghar, Shivadol

Transfer to car to visit Sivsagar. First stop will be Pohu Garh wildlife sanctuary, Asia’s first natural zoo built by Ahom Kings. After, visit the 18th century Ahom dynasty palace named Talatal Ghar. The last two stops will be Rang Ghar, Asia's first sports pavilion, and the Shiva temple Shivadol. Return to boat for dinner.

Day 4 - Nimati Ghat, Majuli

Sail to Nimati Ghat to hike in the jungle forest. After tea in the jungle, return to the houseboat to enjoy lunch and a relaxing sail to Majuli Island. There will be a private performance in the evening of the last portion of the Hindu epic “Ramayana” with elaborate costumes and masks hosted on Majuli Island.

Day 5 - Auniati Satra, pottery and mask making

After a leisurely breakfast, set out on Majuli Island to visit Auniati Satra, established in 1643 by Ahom King Sutamla. This important Satra Temple houses the idol of Lord Krishna named Govinda. Daily prayers have been performed here for the past 380 years by the approximate 550 resident devotees of the Hindu Religion (Vaishnava). After a traditional Mising tribal lunch, visit Assam’s most famous guru mask maker and his apprentices to see how the elaborate masks for the Hindu epic “Ramayana” are crafted. Afterwards, visit a village pottery maker before returning to the houseboat for some free time to relax before dinner.

Day 6 - Dhanshree Mukh

Sail to Dhanshree Mukh Island: stop along the way for fishing, explore a river island, enjoy a campfire and the last day on the riverboat sanctuary.

Day 7 - Kaziranga jeep tour

Transfer with luggage by small boat to Kaziranga for lunch followed by a jeep tour at Agoratoli Range in Kaziranga National Park. Observe one-horned rhinoceroses, wild water buffalo, swamp deer, Asian elephants, Kingfisher and many other bird species. Check-in to luxury hotel and enjoy the facilities including the pool, spa, and walking paths before meeting for a traditional Assamese dinner at the hotel.

Day 8 - Kaziranga safari

Customized safari in Kaziranga National Park followed by breakfast at the hotel. Activity choices include pool, spa, orchid botanical garden, shopping at hotel craft gift shop and/or local market (scarves, tea, traditional Assamese crafts). Farewell dinner at the end of the day.

Day 9 - Departure from Guwahati

Early morning transfer to Guwahati airport by car to take flights home.
