Vishwakarma Puja

ABCD Exploration celebrated Vishwakarma Puja aboard our SB Brahmaputra Pearl tour boat while it was still under construction. Vishwakarma Puja marks the birth of the Hindu god, Vishwakarma, who is believed to be the creator of the world, and is referred to as the divine architect. Vishwakarma, the son of Lord Brahma, is believed to have created the holy city of Dwarka, Lord Krishna’s ruling kingdom.

This day is celebrated enthusiastically by architects, engineers, as well as skilled laborers including, mechanics, factory workers, smiths, welders, industrial workers and craftsmen.

On this day workers do not do any professional work and only worship their tools, offering prayers to Lord Vishwakarma to protect them, keep their livelihoods secure and to bring them success.

ABCD Exploration boat workers decorated our cruise boat with colorful papers and set up a beautiful bamboo framed area with a picture of Vishwakarma displayed in front. A monk prepared traditional offerings for Vishwakarma and our ABCD Exploration boat workers, together with co-founder Bumoni (Dhiraj Bikash) Gogoi, offered prayers led by the monk. Our boat workers enjoyed a day of rest and prayer followed by a hearty meal on the bank of the Brahmaputra River.
